EDMONTON — The Edmoton Eskimos have released international defensive lineman Aston Whiteside, the team announced Tuesday.
Whiteside, formerly a member of the Ottawa REDBLACKS, joined the Eskimos as a free agent back in February.
Originally signed by Toronto in 2014, Whiteside played in 15 games with the Double Blue and recorded 14 defensive tackles, two sacks and three forced fumbles. In two seasons with the REDBLACKS, Whiteside finished with 26 defensive tackles, 10 sacks and four forced fumbles.
