TORONTO — Just under a month before the opening of free agency, Argonauts pending free agent DeVier Posey isn’t thinking too much about where he may be next season.
Instead, the wide receiver is still relishing the feeling of his team’s Grey Cup win last November.
“It’s kinda the same state it’s been since the Grey Cup,” he said on Monday when asked about any contract talks. “I’m just enjoying the win, digesting things. For me personally, I’m still working out. I’m still staying in shape. I haven’t changed anything. Just waiting on the phone to ring and figure out where I’ll be next year.”

Posey is set to become a free agent on February 13th and this it will be the first time that the 27-year-old is experiencing it in his football career.
Making sure that his family is happy is the most important thing for the pass-catcher and that will be on his mind before he makes any decision.
“With free agency,” he began. “I’ve never experienced it so I want to, if anything, talk to people that I love and their opinions that I value and put them all in a pot and somewhat formulate a decision for the best choice for me and my family because ultimately that’s what it’s about, making sure my family is happy. It’s not really about money but just making sure they’re happy.”
Posey was the Argonauts third-leading receiver in 2017 despite missing six games with a foot injury. In the 12 games he did play, he hauled in 52 receptions for 744 yards and seven touchdowns. Posey was also named the Grey Cup MVP and scored the championship game’s longest touchdown in history (100 yards).
