TORONTO — Whether you’re a CFL team, a Total CFL Pick ‘Em player or a CFL.ca writer, there’s a lot on the line, and all of it continues as Mark’s Labour Day Weekend gets set in the Canadian Football League.
Three re-matches go down this weekend following Mark’s Labour Day Weekend. The Banjo Bowl goes down in Winnipeg with the Blue Bombers hoping to get back in the win column. The Argos will be hoping that home field advantage will bring them luck and the Battle of Alberta concludes in Edmonton.
Total CFL Pick ‘Em is back in 2018 with $5,000 to be awarded to the winner who’s able to Pick ‘Em better than all the rest.

The Ottawa REDBLACKS are coming off of a disappointing loss to the Montreal Alouettes and hope to redeem themselves with a victory over the Lions, who have lost their last two games.
A win will be crucial for the REDBLACKS as the Ticats sit close on their heels in the East Division standings.
Travis Lulay will be facing another game in which his performance will be critical in determining the success for the Lions. Jeremiah Johnson can help in taking some of the load off the shoulders of Lulay with a strong performance on the ground, and the matchup against position counterpart William Powell might be enough to light a spark for Johnson and the rest of the Lions’ offence.

Jeremiah Masoli has spent the past two weeks shutting his critics up. A come from behind performance against the Eskimos, followed by a strong performance against the Argos on Labour Day has the Ticats rolling as they make a push for top spot of the East Division standings.
The Argos are back trying to find answers at the quarterback position. Marc Trestman looks to be sticking with McLeod Bethel-Thompson, however, and will be hoping home field advantage will help the Boatmen in their re-match against the Ticats on Saturday afternoon.
The news that Ticats’ Jalen Saunders may miss the rest of the regular season gives the Argos defence little positive thinking as Hamilton’s depth at the receiver position is among the best in the league. James Wilder Jr. will be needing to get back to breaking off for long gains to let Bethel-Thompson have some time in the pocket, hoping to get a win for Toronto.

Saskatchewan is buzzing, which is perhaps an advantage for Winnipeg with the fact that the Banjo Bowl isn’t being playing in Regina.
That being said, Winnipeg needs to get everyone involved on offence. Andrew Harris will continue to be your workhorse, however, the Bombers will need to get individuals like Darvin Adams, Nic Demski and yes, even Chris Streveler actively involved, and creatively as well.
The Riders need to get their offence operating consistently as their defence won’t be able to be leaned on as much as they have been during their streak of three wins. Their committee of Marcus Thigpen and Tre Mason need to be operating at full capacity to outwork Harris on the opposing side.

The comments of Edmonton’s C.J. Gable has added some buzz to the re-match between the Stampeders and Eskimos. Perhaps to the point where there’s more hype around the upcoming game than there was for the Labour Day Classic.
Nonetheless, those comments will be needing to be backed up by Gable and the Eskimos offence on Saturday when they matchup for the second and final edition of the Battle of Alberta this season.
Calgary will be without Kamar Jorden for quite some time and will be leaning on DaVaris Daniels as their go-to guy for Bo Levi Mitchell. Meanwhile, the Eskimos also practiced without Derel Walker earlier this week and questions loom regarding his availability for Saturday’s game.
