It’s my favourite time of the year – the holiday season is upon us! We’ve already been gifted the 2019 CFL schedule (hooray!) and I thought I would bring back the 12 days of a CFL Christmas for your enjoyment!
Last year I was listening to Christmas music (because I am obsessed with Christmas music) and when 12 days of Christmas came on I thought to myself, “WHY are there so many birds being given as gifts?” Go back and listen, seriously. There are geese, partridges, swans, calling birds, French hens, turtle doves… you get the picture.
The only birds I want are the ones that fly around Percival Molson so I rewrote 12 Days of Christmas to be 12 Days of a CFL Christmas with a few things that the CFL gave to us in 2018. If you missed last year’s, you can check it out here.
Enjoy, CFL fans and Happy Holidays!
Lewis. Ward.
Nick Marshall scored on offence (nine QB sneaks) and defence (two pick-sixes) in 2018. Not bad.
Edmonton’s Duke Williams and Ticats teammates Brandon Banks and Luke Tasker all hauled in 11 passing touchdowns in 2018.
He wasn’t named 2018’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player for nothing.
Brendan Dozier, Winston Rose, Anthony Orange, Jonathan Rose and Rico Murray led the CFL in interceptions with five each.
That was also the most in the league.
Charleston Hughes, Micah Johnson, Odell Willis, Kwaku Boateng, Davon Coleman, Craig Roh and Jovon Santos-Knox all took down QBs three times in one game this season. Sack. Trick.
Duke Williams, Brandon Banks, Brad Sinopoli, Luke Tasker, S.J. Green, Greg Ellingson, Bryan Burnham, Darvin Adams and Diontae Spencer: Welcome to the 1000-yard club.
That’s right. Banks hit 100 yards 10 times in 2018. That set a franchise record for the most in a single season, too.
Kyran Moore (two), Christion Jones, Terry Williams (three), Romar Morris, Chris Rainey, Diontae Spencer, Frankie Williams and Stef Logan all returned punts for touchdowns this season.
The Ticats pivot tossed over 300 yards in Weeks 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 15, 18 and 19. (Bonus: He also went over 300 in the Eastern Final against Ottawa)
