Alex Singleton, Marken Michel waived by Eagles

PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia Eagles announced Friday that they have waived former Calgary Stampeders Alex Singleton and Marken Michel.  It is not known yet if either will be offered or accept practice roster agreements with the NFL club.

Singleton was the Stamps’ first-round selection in 2016 and he played in 54 regular-season games over the past three seasons. He amassed 322 defensive tackles including 10 tackles for loss, 17 special-teams tackles, four sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception and nine knockdowns.

Singleton was voted the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2017 and he led the league in 2018 with 123 tackles.

Michel made his Stamps debut in 2017 and appeared in a total of 24 regular-season games, making 72 catches for 1,215 yards and eight touchdowns. He also had four carries for 47 yards and one touchdown, five punt returns for 39 yards and five kickoff returns for 89 yards.
