TORONTO — The Stamps scored early and often in their dominating 36-17 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last week and now hold the CFL record for the longest unbeaten streak within one season (13). They also clinched a home playoff game with the win.
It’s no wonder Calgary remains on top of the Nissan Titan Power Rankings.
The Montreal Alouettes moved up three spots this week after winning their first game under new head coach Jacques Chapdelaine but can they continue their rise? Meanwhile, the Lions also moved up after their Week 15 performance.

Want to know how good the Calgary Stampeders are? They haven’t lost since Week 1. That’s 14 weeks of winning football – mixed in with a tie back in Week 3. With their win in Hamilton last week, they’ve extended their winning streak to 11 straight. Rookie DaVaris Daniels looks to be one of Bo Levi Mitchell’s favourite targets lately, hauling in five catches for 123 yards and two touchdowns. Can the Stamps make it 12 in a row against Toronto this week?

In a game full of offence – 1,004 yards of it to be exact – it was Jonathon Jennings and his Lions who came out on top of the REDBLACKS. Jennings threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80 percent of his passes (20-of-25). With the win, the Lions regained sole possession of second in the West, sitting two points ahead of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Manny Show gave the home crowd a performance as Emmanuel Arceneaux’s 64 receiving yards pushed him over the 1,000 yard mark on the season.

Since their impressive seven-game winning streak, the Bombers were handed their second loss in a row courtesy of the Edmonton Eskimos last week. Winnipeg will have to turn things around, and quickly, as they face the Lions this week. A win at home over the Leos brings the Bombers back to a tie in points with their West Division foe.

Despite not coming away with two points, the REDBLACKS are starting to look like the team we grew to know at the beginning of the season. Trevor Harris threw for 485 yards and two touchdowns in the loss, finding two receivers who both caught over 100 yards on the night. Chris Williams had five catches for 155 yards and a touchdown and Ernest Jackson had six receptions for 122 yards. Hosting the Riders in Week 16, Ottawa will hope to separate themselves from the Ticats in the East.

For the second week in a row, the Eskimos looked to their ground game to run them to a victory. This week, it was John White in the backfield – filling in for the injured Shakir Bell – who rushed 19 times for 104 yards and two touchdowns. White also had seven catches for 64 yards. Edmonton still holds the crossover spot but are just two points behind Winnipeg for third in the West.

In his first game as the Als’ bench boss, Jacques Chapdelaine helped Montreal snap their three game losing skid as the offence came alive against the Argonauts. Rakeem Cato threw four touchdown passes – a career high for the pivot – completing 78.3 percent of his passes for 210 yards and no interceptions. The Als face Edmonton in Week 16 as they look to catch up to the rest in East.

Things just aren’t getting any better for the Tiger-Cats on the injury front. The Tabbies are still without their top receivers (Luke Tasker and Chad Owens) along with their running back CJ Gable but now there are questions if they will be without their star quarterback too. Zach Collaros left Saturday night’s game against the Stampeders with what the team is calling a “upper body injury” and his status is still unknown as Hamilton heads into a Week 16 bye.

Drew Willy’s first start as an Argo didn’t go exactly how he would have hoped as Toronto fell to the Alouettes in Week 15 – its seventh loss in eight games. The Argos will have to sort things out, and quick, as the red-hot Calgary Stampeders come to town in Week 16 and with Montreal nipping at their heels in the East and with the crossover threat looming.

The Riders had a week of rest in Week 15 and will return to the field this week. Saskatchewn has won its last two contests and will hope to make it three in a row in Week 16. It won’t be easy though, especially for the Riders’ defence, as they take on a REDBLACK team that put together an impressive offensive outing last week.
