TORONTO — With a win over the Toronto Argonauts, the Edmonton Eskimos have clinched their spot in playoffs and have moved up this week’s Power Rankings.
With the addition of C.J. Gable in the back field, and a receiving corps led by Brandon Zylstra, the Esks’ have their sights set on catching Winnipeg for second in the West. Can they continue to rise in the standings and the rankings?
The only other team to move up the rankings was the BC Lions while the Argos and Tiger-Cats fell two spots each.

Thanks to a last-second field goal from Rene Paredes, the Stampeders continued their dominance and extended their winning streak to 11-straight last week. The Stamps host the Roughriders this week as they look to stay on top of the Power Rankings and keep their lead in the West.

The Blue Bombers clinched a playoff spot with their win last week over the BC Lions thanks in large part to a big performance from their defence. The team will have to roll into the post-season without their defensive back Maurice Leggett, however, after he suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during that same contest.

All the Riders have to do this week is win and they’re in the playoffs. Saskatchewan needs a win against the Stampeders this week if they want to control their own destiny. If not, their fate is in the hands of the Lions – if the Lions lose the Riders will clinch a spot in the post-season.

A late surge from the Eskimos put them over the edge to defeat the Argos last week and clinch a playoff berth. The addition of C.J. Gable has worked out perfectly so far for the Esks as he’s racked up 215 yards and two touchdowns on the ground while also adding a major score through the air. Edmonton will hope he continues to produce when they head to BC this week.

Toronto has dropped two-straight and will hope to turn things around this week. They’re in for a tough task, however, as the Argos welcome the red-hot Winnipeg Blue Bombers to town.

The Lions’ playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread and are facing a must-win situation this week. BC has to win their contest against the Eskimos this week and Saskatchewan has to lose if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. Talk about high stakes.

With their loss to the Calgary Stampeders – and the Ottawa REDBLACKS win – the Tiger-Cats were eliminated from the playoffs last week. This week the Ticats will head to Montreal to take on the Alouettes for the first of two meetings with the team in the last three weeks.
This Week: 9 | Last Week: 9
The Montreal Alouettes are coming off a Week 17 bye and will be well rested as they welcome the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to Percival-Molson Stadium.
